Because we fully embrace our tourist status, yesterday we took a bus tour to see some of the sights outside of the city center. We met some lovely people, which is always a plus in any organized tour.

Our first stop was the Mount Coot-tha Botanical Gardens, which are beautiful. One of the best parts was the bonsai garden–not typically Australian, obviously, but really cool!

Next we went to the Mount Coot-tha overlook. It was a bit hazy, but still a beautiful view of the city.

Our tour also took us to the Powerhouse, an old industrial building turned into a cool art-filled space.

It is also home to a unique restaurant called Vertigo. They strap you into your seat on the edge of the building, and then after your meal they hook you up to a rope and push you off the building. Not really my cup of tea, but to each his own.

After our bus tour, we relaxed by the pool and then had a casual dinner in an underground burger joint. We ended our night with a drink at a very cool speakeasy called Death and Taxes.
