Monday in Sydney

On Monday morning we went to the aquarium, which is one of my favorite things! It isn’t a particularly large aquarium, but it has some great exhibits, and we really enjoyed it.

After the aquarium, we went to the Maritime Museum. It was much larger than the one in Hobart and is full of interesting exhibits, including James Cameron’s submersible that went to the Mariana Trench, although somehow neither of us took a picture of it–I think we were too busy watching the video about the expedition. It also has several boats of various types outside in the harbor that you can tour, which Rich enjoyed while I had a drink and relaxed in the sun for a bit.

Next we went to the Sydney Tower Eye, which offers views of Sydney from 84 stories up. We were both amazed at how huge Sydney harbor is–it is the deepest and largest harbor in the world according to our tour guide.

We then went across the street to the Museum of Illusions, which was fun, although some of the illusions were better than others.

Then it was back to Darling Harbour for dinner, this time at an Indian restaurant–yum! Another busy, fun-filled day playing tourist in Sydney!
